Engineering platforms for reproducible insight.
I like turning complex scientific questions into things we can measure, understand and improve. I am a scientist and engineer with a background in chemical and biomolecular engineering, biotechnology, analytical science and materials development.
My work sits at the intersection of biology, materials, analytical technologies and data, bringing together different perspectives to solve scientific and engineering problems. I completed my PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I developed analytical and imaging tools for understanding biological processes.
My work has spanned Raman spectroscopy, cell and molecular biology, fluorescence imaging, microfabrication, materials development and characterization and chemometric data analysis, with projects ranging from single-cell analysis to engineered algal systems for protein labeling and imaging. I am drawn to interdisciplinary work because the most interesting problems rarely fit neatly into one field. Beyond the lab, I am passionate about leadership, community and creating opportunities for others. Through leadership roles in GradSWE and Tau Beta Pi, I have contributed to professional development, outreach and community building. In 2025, I founded the Laxima-Romaharsha Scholarship to support underprivileged students pursuing their education and provide mentorship opportunities.
